Restoring Teeth
Fissure Sealants
These are simple resin additions to teeth with natural deep pits or minimal decay. They are commonly used in young patients as a preventative measure to help avoid the need for a filling in future.
Fillings
Modern tooth coloured filling materials (composites) can be used to replace old amalgam fillings. These fillings can look much more natural and can often be a better choice structurally for the tooth. However, there are still occasions where amalgam fillings are the most suitable material of choice. If a tooth has a structure that is too weak for a filling, then inlays, onlays or crowns are often more suitable.
Crowns, Inlays and Onlays
These restorations are made in the laboratory and require specific tooth preparation in order to fit. They are fixed in place to improve the strength and durability of a tooth. The can be made of metal, ceramics or a combination of both.
